“ I guess when you’re young, you just believe there’ll be many people with whom you’ll connect with. Later in life, you realize it only happens a few times.”
“When you’re little and you get rejected, all of a sudden, whatever you are. Has now just been made to feel like you’re not good enough. So you spin up a persona and you present it to the world. And you say, “well, is this go enough?” [The world replies] “Well no, that’s not good enough either.” And so you’re like, “okay I’ll spin up another persona, is this good enough?”
We’re seeking validation that we are, in fact, good enough. But the problem is that you are seeking validation for a persona. Not the most authentic version of you. So ask yourself these questions:
Who was I before the world stole my light?
Who were you before you started changing into what you thought the world wanted you to be?”
“ I guess when you’re young, you just believe there’ll be many people with whom you’ll connect with. Later in life, you realize it only happens a few times.”
